KISUMU 2 BEDROOM APARTMENT DESIGN
Our client came to us with a request to design a modern 2 bedroom apartments that would ensure financial feasibility and rent sustainability over several years without loosing tenants to newer buildings that would undoubtedly be built later.
THE DESIGN APPROACH
The apartment incorporates a living space that meets the spatial needs of occupant while incorporating modern amenities and sustainable design features.
Through our research and a feasibility study, we established that couples prioritized privacy, modern amenities and parking spaces.
The apartment provides privacy for occupant couples by having a separate bath and toilet areas. This ensuite bedroom is only accessible from the master bedroom and is complemented by the common bath which is accessible from the main living space.
The living room is sizable living rooms and bedrooms which ensures that all the spatial needs of the occupants are met.
In addition to that, we also provided parking spaces for at least half of the households.
The apartment incorporates modern amenities by including a washing area for washing machines, kitchen spaces that accommodates cookers, fridges and storage, balcony area for resting, a children’s playing area for their wellbeing, and a rooftop green area for relaxing and enjoying the sun.
The building also has an integrated water storage and harvesting facilities to ensure adequacy, as well as renewable solar energy lighting for common areas. Smart energy systems are put in place that automatically turn off and on according to the time of day.
Through the provision of these amenities to the tenants, we ensured that even with changing consumer needs, the apartments continue to be a viable home for future families, ensuring that the units continued to attract tenants in the foreseeable future.
WHAT WE ACHIEVED WITH THE DESIGN
The modern 2 bedroom apartments that we were able to come up with provides a new standard of living for the current and future occupants.
Our prioritization of sustainability, modernity and spatial requirements ensures financial feasibility and rent sustainability for our clients over several years.
The integration of water storage and harvesting facilities, renewable solar energy lighting, and smart energy systems added value to the apartment and set them apart from other units in the area.
