4 Bedroom Modern Hip and Gable Bungalow
This project is a contemporary single level residence designed as a spacious and well articulated family home, expressed through a modern interpretation of hip and gable roof forms. The architectural language combines solid masonry construction with selective wall cladding, complemented by plastered and painted surfaces, resulting in a balanced and textured façade. A clay tile roof with a dormer element crowns the building, adding character and vertical emphasis to the overall composition.
A generous front porch defines the primary entrance, conceived as an outdoor living extension complete with a fireplace, reinforcing its role as a social and transitional space. The porch opens into a central lobby that functions as the main circulation node, providing clear and intuitive access to the living room, dining area, and a private passage leading to the bedroom wings and service spaces.
The living room is expansive, designed to accommodate up to a ten seater seating arrangement, and is enhanced by large bay windows that introduce ample natural light while framing outward views. A dedicated television zone anchors the space, ensuring functional clarity within the open volume. Adjacent to this, the dining area is equally generous, sized for a ten seater table and complemented by a handwash basin and a serving counter, supporting both daily use and entertaining.
A flexible study room is incorporated within the plan, designed to function as both a workspace and a quiet relaxation area, adding versatility to the internal layout. The kitchen is centrally positioned and fully equipped with an island, double sink, gas burner, extensive work surfaces, and ample cabinetry, alongside provision for a double door refrigerator. It is supported by a walk in pantry and a dedicated laundry area, while a kitchen porch extends the functional capacity of the space and provides an additional service access point.
The private accommodation is carefully zoned into two distinct wings. The master suite is set apart in its own wing, ensuring a high level of privacy. It features a spacious walk in closet and a well appointed bathroom that includes a bathtub, creating a comfortable and self contained retreat. The secondary wing houses three additional bedrooms, all ensuite, including a guest bedroom, offering consistency in comfort and convenience across all sleeping spaces.
